Two sheds, two cats and one little boy
The following story covers from about May 2009 to July 2010. The lead up to this tale is that my wife Nicole and I finally bought a house in November of 2007. I always wanted a garden to produce some fresh vegetables and have always had some pots around with herbs, chillies and the occasional vegetable. funnily enough it was Nicole or rather her lack of green thumb that got me into gardening.
It was around July 2002 and we were living in Calder rd in Darlington NSW and Nicole come home with a self watering pot a bag of dirt and some herbs. She planted them and left them out the back of our terrace and promptly forgot about them. I was a smoker at that stage and would go outside for a cigarette and noticed that these herbs were not doing so well so I would occasionally throw a cup of water on them.
When we moved to
The tense and telling of this story change as time goes on.......
November 2007
This is a tale of two sheds. One was very old and one was very new.
The girls decided that one of them had to go. May 2009

Before the baby was born May 2009
Local wildlife was consulted (Tobie & Molli)
And an environmental study was completed (back of our house during 100 year flood)
Work commenced on dismantling (our back yard)
But we got a little distracted
We tried to continue the dismantling (first load of baby washing).
But it was very cold October 2009
Grand final came and went with a shock loss (St Kilda v Cats)
A family meeting was held. Kaelan needs his own garden was the only action item arising.
You can help your dad, was offered as an alternative (Kaelan loves his watering can)
And was quickly dismissed as foolishness
Early attempts, though appreciated, were a little on the small side
Even though I already knew my name mum & dad had to make sure everyone else did as well see it’s on my garden!. This is my dad telling everyone how big my broccoli is going to grow
Lots of people know my name now
But what about the garden dad?? Tell me about the garden
If you’re not gonna tell the story then I’m just hanging out with my chicky babe.
Overnight the old shed disappeared (ask Keirsten about the chainsaw incident)
And materials were won on ebay to build the garden bed
but just didn’t work out the way they were planned to
What about all those Bunnngs vouchers you got for your birthday dad?
So I got wood and Guardian Matt cut wood
Holes were dug and wood was laid on the hottest day in 100 years
Blue and green should never be seen without a mattock in between
The clay was really hard so we decided to have a holiday before finishing.
Mum & Kaelan ate donuts
While dad played Tetris
Guardians Keirsten & Matt turn up unexpectedly to check on their ‘god’ son (Berri NSW)
Where’s our caravan dad? (Huskison NSW)
Kaelan’s mum is awesome.
On the holiday there was swimming…
and meditating
and posing Feb 2010
and eating
Feb 2010
and drinking at the Husky pub
Feb 2010
Dad tested out the life time warranty on Tupperware
A week of rain loosened up the clay and made the support post holes easy to dig. So dad dug and attached posts. Phase seven complete (nb holes not filled in yet)!!
There’s a lot to do when you’re a baby and sleeping is not one of them. So we had another holiday at Tresillian
After I graduated from sleep school I started to try out some bunny outfits
Mum & Dad bought a furit sald tree with 3 citrus grafts to represent our family
Autumn is great. Mum let me have heaps of fun and Tobie keeps watch over me
10 May 2010
I love having friends over 13 May 2010
Rule no 1 is always smile at your grandparents cos they give the best gifts
16 May 2010
This stuff is really great. I hope dad is growing some (making a chocolate cake)
19 May 2010
Overnight the world got smaller
I was so proud that I did a dance
